Çolak graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Educational Sciences in 1994. After graduation, he participated in a 1-year volunteer work programme at Camphill Devon Community, which provides education, self-care and social services for mentally handicapped individuals in England.

Upon returning back to country, Çolak completed his military service and started his career in 1997 as a Credit Portfolio Officer at Garanti Bank Istanbul Regional Commercial Loans Department. For 4 years, he was responsible from financial analysis reports, evaluation of proposals from branches and risk management.

In 2000, he moved to Koç Consumer Finance Company as a Private Loans Specialist. He was responsible from Consumer Loans and Smart Card. During his time at Koç Finance, he provided credit analysis and delivered financial analysis trainings. 

​

Çolak moved back to Garanti but this time the leasing company as the Credits Manager in the Loans Department in 2002. He worked on leasing and factoring credit analysis reports, credit facility and risk management. Having completed his MBA (Finance) at Yeditepe University, he was appointed as Ankara and Eastern Anatolia Regional Marketing and Sales Manager in 2005. His role was managing and training of the sales team in Central Anatolia, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia and Black Sea Regions. In 2007, he moved to Bursa as the Western Anatolia Regional Manager.

In the early days of 2008, Çolak was transferred to ABN Amro Leasing as Regional Sales Manager and was responsible for the Anatolian Side of Istanbul and the Black Sea Regions. He was also managing the Vendor Leasing channel in this role.

​

Until 2018, Çolak worked as a Regional Manager at Deniz Leasing and then at Vakıf Leasing. He joined Arma family in 2018 and delivered training programs on Sales, Sales Management, Risk Management, Portfolio Management and Financial Analysis. 

​

Returning to corporate life at the beginning of 2020, Çolak worked as Credit Allocation and Asset Manager at Alternatif Leasing until 2023 and then returned back to Arma.

​

Çolak, who is married and has 2 children, is interested in mountaineering and skiing. His biggest passion is sailing with his boat. Çolak, who is a member of the Amateur Sailors Association, organizes social training programs and activities in this role.
